CLA received an email from Tay Valley Township (TVT) this morning with an update on construction activity on the Christie Lake North Shore Road. That activity is scheduled to begin next week. The email states, in part:
The Township has hired Crain’s Construction to complete the replacement of the one large culvert that is located 350 meters north- west of Jordan’s Cottage Lane. The work is scheduled for October 3, 2018 (next Wednesday), weather permitting, and should only take two-to-three days to complete. The road will remain open to traffic, however there will be single lane closures during daylight hours. The excavated section of the road will remain gravel until a different contractor can mobilize to the site to place a patch over the new culvert, approximately a couple of weeks. It is important that this culvert replacement is completed prior to the other repairs due to the condition of the existing culvert and the almost certainty of a failure within the near future. RVCA has been notified of this work and the Township has received the appropriate permits.
The email also contained a Christie Lake North Shore Road Update Report that TVT staff presented to Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting held on September 4, 2018. It includes, among other things, comments and concerns raised at the Public Open House held on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
