COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The Township’s top priority during this crisis continues to be the health and safety of the public and our staff.  To help mitigate the onset of community spread, the Township has closed, cancelled or modified a number of programs and services.

  • – Community halls (Burgess Hall and Maberly Hall)
  • – All waste sites will be closed on Saturday, December 26, 2020 (Boxing Day)

Cancellations

  • – Township run recreation programs (choir, hockey, karate, soccer)

Modifications

  • – Council Meetings will continue to be virtual.
  • – all waste sites remain open, with modifications
    • – as waste site amenities are not sanitized, the public is asked to ensure they are adhering to strict social distancing guidelines (6 feet apart) and are taking the following precautions while visiting the waste sites:
      • – stay home if you are feeling unwell
      • – wash your hands frequently
      • – keep a safe distance of 6 feet or 2 metres from those around you
      • – avoid touching your face
      • – no hugging or handshakes
  • – for any payments owing to the Township, options include online or telephone banking, mailing a cheque to the Municipal Office or dropping a payment off in the drop box at the Municipal Office.  We encourage residents to use these means of payment if at all possible.
  • – the public is reminded to social distance when using boat launches, parks, playgrounds, swimming areas, outdoor rinks, etc. and only boat or fish by yourself or with people you live with.

Please note that these mitigation measurers may change at any time. Our thanks for your understanding and cooperation as we work to help protect the health and safety of the public and our staff.  For current information visit http://www.tayvalleytwp.ca/en/resident-services/covid-19–coronavirus-.asp
