COVID-19 – Township Services – Closures, Cancellations and Modifications

The Township’s top priority during this crisis continues to be the health and safety of the public and our staff.  To help mitigate the onset of community spread, the Township has closed, cancelled or modified a number of programs and services.

The following Township owned facilities are closed to the public until further notice:

-Municipal Office
-community halls (Burgess Hall and Maberly Hall)
-all parks, playgrounds, ball diamonds, outdoor rinks, water access points, tennis court
-the Re-Use Centre at the Glen Tay Waste Site for both drop-off and pick-up of items until. Residents are requested to not bring items to the Re-Use Centre during this time.

-all Township run recreation programs (choir, hockey, karate)
-all Working Group meetings

-Council Meetings will be scheduled as required with reduced agendas.  All presentations and delegations will be rescheduled to a later date.  The Township will make every effort to make the meetings available to the public.
-all waste sites remain open, with modifications
-only household garbage and recyclables will be accepted at the Glen Tay Waste Site at this time, Stanleyville and Maberley remain unchanged
-as waste site amenities are not sanitized, the public is asked to ensure they are adhering to strict social distancing guidelines (6 feet apart) and are taking the following precautions while visiting the waste sites:

-stay home if you are feeling unwell
-wash your hands frequently
-keep a safe distance of 6 feet or 2 metres from those around you
-avoid touching your face
-no hugging or handshakes

-the Building Department will be suspending interior inspections of occupied residences. Permit holders requiring these types of inspections will be notified that inspections may be completed by photograph, video, FaceTime or through a Professional Engineer’s report. The permit holder will also be advised that the inspector will contact them to discuss the specifics of what will be required for approval, as each project is unique.
-for any payments owing to the Township, options include online or telephone banking, mailing a cheque to the Municipal Office or dropping a payment off in the drop box at the Municipal Office.  We encourage residents to use these means of payment if at all possible.

Please note that these mitigation measurers may change at any time. Our thanks for your understanding and cooperation as we work to help protect the health and safety of the public and our staff.  For current information visit–coronavirus-.asp
