Christie Lake Water Level Spring 2024

The winter of 2023/24 was characterized by low snow pact and as a result very little in the way of spring runoff. Through March 2024 Parks Canada withheld water at the Bolingbroke dam resulting in low water levels on Christie Lake.  With spring precipitation, water levels on Bobs Lake approached full and in early April, Parks Canada allowed more flow downstream into Christie and the Tay River. Water levels on Christie rose quickly through April. In late April flow from Bobs Lake was curtailed again and water levels on Christie Lake have been dropping dramatically since then.

Parks Canada aims to have the Bobs Lake reservoir full going into the opening of the Rideau Canal on the May long weekend at which point Bobs Lake is drawn down and water levels on Christie and along the Tay River should rise to more seasonal levels.
