Electronic Waste Recycling
You may dispose of electronic waste items listed below year-round at Camp Opemikon, 530 Hanna Road. Small items can be dropped off and placed in the bin at the office. If you have a large item or need an item picked up, please contact Theresa Strickland, Camp Director at (613) 273-5291 or opewarden@scouts.ca. Recycled electronic waste is sold and the proceeds directly benefit the camp.

Hazardous Waste Disposal
You may dispose of hazardous waste items listed below at the Tay Valley Township Waste Sites. For information on location of waste sites, hours of operation, disposal procedures and other information, please visit:

Hazardous Waste:
- Motor oil, antifreeze, oil filters
- Flammable liquids (gasoline, solvents, strippers, turpentine)
- Latex paint, oil paint and stain
- Organic flammables (adhesives, driveway sealant, caulk, resin)
- Propane cylinders
- Lead acid vehicle batteries or dry cell batteries
- Aerosol cans
- Acid or base corrosives (cleaners, drain openers, rust remover)
- Pesticides
- Oxidizers (pool chemicals, fertilizer)
- Fire extinguishers
- Pharmaceuticals (prescription or non prescription drugs for human or veterinary use)
- Pathological waste (syringes)
